Window Rock Jail Ministry

This ministry is to be part of the group based in Fr. Defiance that visits the Window Rock jail on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM. You talk to and pray with those in jail. Training will be provided if needed.

Ministry Formation Classes
Nov 15 @ 7:00 pm – Nov 17 @ 12:00 pm

The Diocese of Gallup offers courses in preparation for the following ministries:

  • permanent deacon
  • parish administrator
  • pastoral life coordinator
  • liturgical coordinator
  • parish manager
  • director of religious education

Preparation for the permanent diaconate takes four years, parish administrator requires three years and the remaining are two-year programs. Adults who wish to participate in a course or courses solely for personal enrichment without intending to complete training for a particular ministry may do so. The intent of these courses is to provide academic training and adult religious education. They are not intended as a means of earning academic credits. All classes are at Sacred Heart Retreat Center on the following weekends:

  • September 20-22
  • October 18-20
  • November 15-17
  • December 20-22

Moral Theology
A summary overview of Moral Theology, including some of the more difficult moral questions of our day.

Philosophy
Part III of the review of western philosophy.

Prophets
This course will strive to understand the nature of the prophets and their message, and in particular to shed light on their prophecies and in the fulfillment thereof in Christ.

2:00-4:30 PM
Sacramental and Liturgical Theology
The purpose of this course is to understand more fully what liturgy and sacraments are so that their salvific content can be celebrated, explained and lived well.
